Sport has key role in Roma inclusion 2014. 03. 18. On 18 March, the EPP Working Group on Roma Inclusion organised a hearing on the role of football in Roma inclusion and a subsequent football tournament later on in the day in a Brussels sport centre. “Sport - and football in particular - has an undeniable role in eliminating Roma exclusion and fighting discrimination,” said MEPs Lívia Járóka, Chairwoman of the Working Group, and former EP President Jerzy Buzek, patron of the events.

Jaroka: Roma immigration is ‘positive’ for countries (Lívia Járóka – BBC HARDtalk) 2014. 02. 26. At the end of 2013 work restrictions imposed by some EU countries on Romania and Bulgaria were lifted sparking fears that some of the more prosperous European countries could see mass immigration. Livia Jaroka is the only Roma MEP in the European Parliament, representing the Fidesz Party in Hungary. She tells HARDtalk's Zeinab Badawi the EU needs to do more to tackle Roma poverty and where there has been immigration it has been a positive advantage for the countries concerned.
The situation of Roma women calls for immediate and concrete actions 2013. 12. 10. “Regardless of the fact that Roma women – approximately 6-8 million people - are Europe's most vulnerable group the gender aspect was either missing or addressed in an incidental and inconsistent way in the national Roma strategies. Via a set of policies indicated in my report, this situation has to be remedied,” pointed out Lívia Járóka following the adoption of the report on the gender aspects of the European Framework of National Roma Inclusion Strategies. The document analyses the lessons of the Framework's initial phase and formulates specific recommendations to improve the situation of Roma women.
Roma Dignity centre opened in Brussels 2013. 11. 08. Research organization Yahad in Unum opened its 'Roma Dignity Centre' yesterday in Brussels with the cooperation of EPP Group MEP Lívia Járóka (Fidesz). In her speech at the opening ceremony Járóka highlighted the necessity of remembrance and drawing the lessons of history and commended the organization's work in researching and publicizing the atrocities against Roma.
OSCE conference on Roma inclusion 2013. 11. 08. The OSCE held a two-day conference on the implementation of its Action Plan on Improving the Situation of Roma and Sinti. In her keynote speech EPP Group MEP Lívia Járóka (Fidesz) assessed the recent inclusion initiatives at the international level and identified the areas where the EU Framework for National Roma Inclusion Strategies must move forward to increase its efficiency.

UEFA, together with European think tank Sport and Citizenship organized a conference on the role of football in social integration in the European Parliament. In her opening speech, MEP Lívia Járóka spoke of the necessity of combating racism in football stadiums and improving the health of Roma communities.
